Oxabact®:

is an oral drug composed of lyophilized live Oxalobacter formigenes, an oxalate-degrading bacterium for treatment of Primary Hyperoxaluria, a rare autosomal recessive disease with a prevalence of 1-3 per million. The bacterium can regulate both dietary and endogenous components of systemic oxalate in humans. The product supports long-term perpetual degradation of oxalate in lower GI-tract and promotes removal of endogenously produced systemic oxalate through enteric elimination. Pilot Phase I/II studies have shown promising results with significant plasma and urinary oxalate reduction in PH patients. Oxabact® holds an orphan drug designation for Primary Hyperoxaluria in the US and in the EU.

Oxazyme®:

is a non-systemic orally delivered drug composed of recombinant oxalate decarboxylase for treatment of Enteric Hyperoxaluria. It is formulated to enzymatically degrade available dietary oxalate prior to its absorption. The drug is designed as a dietary intercept therapeutic for enteric and absorptive hyperoxalurias causing recurrent stone disease. The objective with Oxazyme® is to prevent formation of calcium-oxalate kidney stones.
